    Hello,

First of all I am start off by saying sorry for the stupid question!
If I need the bathroom during lectures or seminars do I just raise my hand up and ask so? (It will be pretty embarrassing to ask in front of 100+ students in the room)

No, you're old enough to go to the bathroom without permission.

Just get up, leave and then return quietly.

Why would you ask? That would look really ****ing weird,

Just leave and come back, making as little noise as possible.

just go quietly, soemtimes lectures are like 3 hours long and you're gonna need to pee... putting your hand up is much more disruptive than just leaving quietly

3 hour long lectures are a horrible idea. So inefficient for learning.

What they said, just leave quietly. maube go before the lecture starts. Most people can last an hour.
If you ahve a weak bladder, then maybe do things like dont drink immediately beforehand and sit at the back on the end of a row so you can leave easily.

Wow that sucks. Most people must stop paying attention half way through.

we had a small group so they could break it up a bit with activities and discussions and so on, it wasn't literally 3 hours of talking

    Hello ,

It's not embarrassing - it's quite common with a lot of students. They've been in an education where it's been drilled into them that you have to raise your hand and ask if you can leave to use the bathroom but generally, at university, you just get up and leave the lecture quietly to use the bathroom and return just the same. They see you as adults and you can do as you wish - as long as you don't disturb the lecture!
