So I took Maths, Further Maths, History and Physics at AS level, I achieved Bs and As all through out my mocks etc and ended up with BECC respectively as a result of missing pages, reading numbers wrong and just sheer incompetence. My teachers were somewhat shocked and I was told that I could continue all 4 to full A-levels and I have completely changed my way of learning to "null" my issues. I have an amasing personal statement with plenty of extra curricular interest etc and will be re taking 2 Further Maths modules and one Maths hopefully bringing me to an A in both with my History and Physics over all grades being decided by whatever I get this year and my AS exams will be scraped (New spec)
My issue is what would be my position if I do get the good grades I was targeted for say A*AAB possibly better and meet the required grades for the better universities, because, as it stands I wont be able to get many good offers.

If you believe you will get good grades then its worth waiting so that you can release yourself into clearing or take a gap year and apply with the grades in hand to the Uni you really wanted to go to. Much more sense to do that.
You can use the gap year to earn money.

I agree with 999tigger, if you are really confident of significant improvement then plan for a gap year and apply with grades in hand.
On the other hand, if such dramatic improvement is less certain then you could apply to more realistic choices and IF you achieve the higher grades then try for a more demanding course through adjustment/clearing. There's no certainty of course that any of your preferences would be available in clearing.
