Does cumulative frequency need to be shown on the y-axis?

    Howdy .

    I am looking at cumulative frequency graphs and all examples have the cumulative frequency part on the y-axis. Should it always be put on this axis?

    It is the value that changes when the x-axis is changed, hence it can only be on the y-axis.
