Wine hot flush?

This is very bizarre... I've had one glass of wine and my temperature has gone through the roof - literally my hands and feet are sweating (although really just my hands and feet... and my neck is very hot... the rest of me feels pretty normal). This seems to happen to me fairly often, but only with wine and I'm intrigued as to why. Anyone have any ideas? It's just like a hot flush...

According to results of my google search, wine is prone to causing hot flushes (esp. in menopausal women for obvious reasons.)

I think it's a fairly normal reaction to wine, not saying everyone gets it cause i assume they don't just saying that I don't think it's anything you need to worry about

I get quite hot after drinking wine and I know of other people who get similar hot flushes from drinking it

You know I do worry about this... ever since I was about 16 I actually get full on hot flushes like mum... However my periods haven't stopped and everything else seems normal so I'm sure I can't actually be menopausal :p:

I do the same, only I get proper face flushing as well, it's hideous. I have no idea why, but it always makes people think I'm much more pissed than I actually am.

That happens to me sometimes too and I get a really red face. I was very annoyed one night as I sat with a housemate for a glass off wine before heading out for the night. I had only had half a glass when my cheeks started burning up and I had to go out looking like a fool.

Aka the Asian Glow, as Asian people are more prone to it. Quite common though.

Yes I get the same reaction.. I go really red in the face and its embarassing. Especially when people notice that I've gone red and ask if I'm alright. I try to avoid white wine as this is what makes it worse. If I have to drink it then I will try and mix it with soda water so its not as strong.

I'm also Chinese.. which I dont think helps much its already been mentioned that asians have a low tolerance to alcohol. :frown:

I get it too, it's really embarrasssing as after half a glass of wine I'm glowing like the setting sun and everyone thinks I'm completely drunk. My cheeks go bright, bright red and get really hot, even my ears start burning lol. I don't really drink wine because of it, it's so uncomfortable.

I get a red face when I drink wine. I don't think I do with other alcohol unless I've had a lot.

bekaboo i suffer just like you i get proper hot flushes just like my mum. I thought i was the only one who suffered from it my age.

I am always saying suddenly "open the windows, hot flush" !

and when you have a hot flush the more you think about it the hotter you get
