Everyone is constantly miserable and arguing, no-one says a word at the dinner table.

I'll be leaving to go to Uni next year, but I really want to stop this draining me constantly so that I can do as well as possible.

    Any advice?

I live in a similar environment and I just try to isolate myself in my room as much as I can so they can't annoy me

Mmm, it's difficult though as you can still hear them, and I feel sorry for them whilst I'm up here too : (

It could be worth trying to start conversation at dinner, about college or something. Something they'll like hearing about and they'll be able to respond to. Have you tried talking to your family about this and how you feel?

Don't worry. Try your best to ignore it as much as possible. As it is only for just one year, you need to have the patience to take it in for a while. Better to isolate yourself from them as much as possible.
