I drunkenly entered the National Museum of Scotland last night around 3am(no idea how I got in), and fell asleep on the stairs.

When I woke up two security guards were asking me questions about how I got in and what I was doing etc. They took my photo and photocopied my ID. They let me go after that.

Does anyone know if this is punishable?

Trespass is not a criminal offense (or at least not this kind), it is civil.
Not sure whether you'd be guilty of other offenses though.
I doubt anything will happen unless you damaged stuff.

Unless you did any damage or stole anything then I think you will be fine. As Inazuma explained its a civil offence.
