I'm set on doing dentistry, I just included med school in the title as both are very competitive and people who have experience with applying to either can offer help. I'm currently in year 13 but I am not applying to uni this year. I'm really worried about my personal statement as I feel like something is missing and if I do not into dental school next year I'd have to take another gap year. So unfortunately year 11 me wasn't very serious about school which resulted in me only getting 3 A*'s 6 A's and 2 B's, I'm quite worried this will affect my application. However at AS I got all A's and I am predicted a*a*a at A2 (maths, bio, chem). Now for the personal statement, I have plenty of work experience, I've attended dentistry related lectures, volunteered at a care home, have a level 3 sports leadership award, can play guitar (is this enough to show dexterity?), grade 7 LAMDA, chemistry prefect, NCS, blah blah BUT I just feel like something is missing. What else shows dexterity? Also, what can I do during my gap year, I'd love to volunteer abroad but I can't afford it, any ideas?I appreciate any help!

If only it was that simple... I'm only looking at uni's that require the UKCAT, luckily 3 of my friends sat it this year as they're applying to medicine and they got high scores so I am praying they will help!

The UKCAT really isn't that bad, i think people over exaggerate how hard it is. Chances are you will do quite well
