Hi It is not obvious whether you can combine Russian and Arabic on the UCL modern languages course. It says it offers 250 languages but doesn't really say whether this combination is possible. I have tried e mailing etc and my UCAS form has to be in for Oxbridge. I prefer UCL. any idea anyone on the UCL R000 course ? thanks

You can't combine Russian and Arabic in the Modern Languages BA. It is possible to study Russian with Arabic (Arabic as a minor element) as part of the Language and Culture BA. The Arabic language modules are taken at the UCL Language Centre. UCL doesn't have an Arabic department, the best it can offer is language modules; you won't be able to study Middle Eastern politics, culture, history etc, or spend your year abroad in an Arabic-speaking country.

thanks so much. Such a shame as UCL will miss out on students who cannot study this combination. Shame they cannot get SOAS Arabic lecturers over ( should be staright forward to combine) - Exeter, Bristol, Leeds and Oxbridge manage it. It seems a real gap in what they have to offer

    thanks so much for feedback
