Nutrition Science vs Dietetics

    • Thread Starter

Can anybody explain the differences to me between the nutrition science courses and dietetics?

I was dead set on applying for Dietetics but with it no longer being funded by the NHS I am weighing up whether it is worth doing the 4 year course in Dietetics over a 3 year course in Nutrition Science.

    Any advice?

Dietetics leads to registration as a dietician and being able to work as a dietician

Nutrition courses don;t lead to professional registration and consequently the roles they are most suited for are rather different ( tends to be more food production / processing / home economist type work than clinical )

alternatively of course you can dissect people's poop and talk rubbish about chlorophyll oxygenating the blood ..
