    Hi fellow applicants,

I thought it would be nice if we all started getting to know, one another. After all we could end up being classmates next year!

So,what experience does everyone have? Have you applied before and was unsuccessful?
Can't wait to hear from you all x

Hello Sorry, I couldn't help noticing this didn't have any replies. I'm a current student at BU, in my first year on an Advertising degree. If you have any general questions about the uni please ask

Hello and that's not a problem. As a matter of fact,I do have quite a few questions about Bournemouth university.

1-What is the night life like?
2-What kind of societies could I join?
3-Are local shops etc. close to the campuses?
4-What local supermarkets are there to purchase from? (Sorry, bit of a random question, but just want to know incase I get my place at this amazing uni!)

    Thank you x

There's are quite a lot of clubs here 😊 There's the Old Fire Station which is pretty good and I live near a club called Cameo which is very popular with students as well. The first is on Lansdowne and the second is 10 minutes walk away from Lansdowne.

There are so many societies: sports ones, academic, hobby... I'm in the Harry Potter society (my favourite!), Marketing Society, Archeological Society and Politics Society. There's a complete list on the SUBU website. Aside from that there's Global Buddies, where you're placed in a group with students from other countries. I have had so much fun with that and can't recommend it more!

On Talbot Campus there's the student shop that has quite a lot in. For food there's Dylan's Bar, Fusion building (the paninis are awesome), Costa, Starbucks, and probably more that I can't remember. Near Lansdowne there's a Tesco Metro, ASDA isn't too far away, another student shop, Starbucks, subway, KFC... there's a whole bunch of takeaway places there 😊

Local shops... ASDA, Tesco, ALDI... there's multiple Tesco though. If you live on Lansdowne ASDA is probably your best bet. But town is only 10 minutes away so anything is accessible.

I hope you get your place! I gave up my firm place at Cardiff to come here (emailed them a week before results day asking them to reject me) and have not once regretted it. The lecturers are really helpful. I also have Asperger syndrome and the support from the uni has been incredible.

Good luck, and feel free to ask if you have any more questions 😊

    Thank you.

Bournemouth just sounds like a great uni, overall.

If you are not very strong in subjects like maths and english,do they provide those students with more acadmedic help? Such as workshops?

I am glad to hear that you are enjoying your time at BU and I wish you all the success with your career. I can't think of anymore questions right now,but if I do I will be in contact.
