My student visa got rejected and I need a new CAS statement to reapply but University of Birmingham said they won't issue a new CAS and I should defer for a year. I think that's pretty messed up and don't want to defer for a bloody year. Talking to the international student services atm trying to figure stuff out. I've currently missed like 4 days of uni. Is anyone else having this problem with UoB? Don't really know what to do about this.

Tier 4 visas aren't really my specialist subject, but PQ will hopefully be able to provide an insight.

Hi I just came here 2 weeks ago with tier 4 visa. I was told that if your student visa got rejected you should be informed about the reason. If you feel you are being mistreated (in this case you already fulfill the minimum the PBS requirements: CAS and tuition fee/maintenance funds) you can make an appeal. Otherwise of course you have to fulfill whatever requirement you are still missing out on, then re-apply.
You should also probably ask the international office as to why they won't issue a new CAS. Perhaps they just don't want you to get too far behind on your class since new visa application could extend your arrival for few more weeks, exceeding the latest date of enrollment. Hope this helps and good luck!
