The few scraps we have so far: the Chancellor will borrow £100 billion 'to stimulate the economy', Labour 'will tackle' the problem of 400,000 children in poverty the way they define it, the railways and presumably something else will be re-nationalised, the rich have it coming big time, a million houses to be built yearly, any shortfall will get the printers rolling hot.

Whatever Labour would spend to pay for all that, make It at least double. Economic confidence in the UK would go through the floor, that would be reflected in government bond yields to an extent we can't guess, they are vital to keep the lights on and there is no running away from it. That is just one example of the change in economic confidence that would occur, it is hard to tell where it stops.

Some people say the world is ruled by the law of unintended consequences and it's hard to disagree, we all know how TNT was discovered or that Colombo found the Americas when looking for India. Were this Labour to make it to power and they wouldn't be able to implement any of the fancy stuff they spout, the unintended consequences on the ground would be totally unaffordable. There would be only the civil service left between us and economic armaggedon.

Brexit, another unintended consequence for someone (not entirely sure he wasn't a leaver at heart but let's stick to the official line)! McDonnell as Chancellor would be a spectacle worth paying for weren't it for the unintended consequences and their cost. We have a few years ahead for it all to be taken to pieces by the right-wing media, get real or else.
