I wouldnt want to be missing any at all. You need to have soemthing in place to make sure you dont miss out on much. If the lectures are poor then you miss out on a lot less than if they are good.

By the end of the year, depending what the elctures are then it cold amount to a lot, so be sure to get the notes and teach yourself at least.

Yeahh but what about the actual lectures?
Like are there videos of the lecturer speaking?
If not, I think missing any lectures isn't great.

    Thats about 14 lectures.
You cna survive it especially if the notes are put online.
Strange you pay so much money and then deicde to miss lectures. Some people miss many times more.

2 lectures a month isn't that bad.. if I were in your position, I would be willing to Möss the 2 lectures, so long as I knew I would study the material and make sure it doesn't affect my overall grade

It should be ok, although if it was 2 lectures per month in a module where you have 1 lecture per week I would say avoid it. It's also worth checking on your department's policy for that kind of thing, especially if you're a first year.

    Hello,

You shouldn't be prioritising a part time job over university - you may not think you are but missing two lectures a month is still a lot in the grand scheme of things. University is more important and I understand that you may need a job but you should find a job that can offer you hours around your university hours and you shouldn't be missing lectures.

You should definitely have a think about it.

    Good luck.

The job is secondary to your degree if they won't let you switch the hours or go to university then you have to quit what's more important to you the degree or your job

It's a gamble. In most of my lectures, the Powerpoint slides showed some of what the lecturer said but nowhere near everything. Some Powerpoints consisted entirely of pictures with short captions - the bulk of the lecture content wasn't included.

I'd strongly advise you not to miss lectures which cover study skills like referencing, plagiarism, finding library/online sources etc. If you don't get the hang of those sorts of things early on, they'll come back to haunt you for the rest of your degree.

depends on course. For my course, for 2 of my modules (out of 10) I missed every single lecture and got 1st's on both. And that was for economics lol
