    Hi,

My name is Harvey, I am a year 11 student. I currently have 3 GCSE's, 1 A and 2 B's. In year 7 I got a 1 day exclusion and a 1 day isolation for doing some stupid things. I was just wondering if this will affect my chances of going to my dream universities. Will I be held back by my mistakes or will A*/A's at AS outweigh them? Any advice or opinions are much appreciated, thanks.

Since it was year 7, i seriously doubt your referee would mention it so there's nothing to worry about.

No, it'll most likely not affect you at all. Normally referees would only mention any exclusions (only from Year 10 and 11 usually) when applying to Sixth Forms and colleges and not uni applications.

    Don't worry!

I agree with your advice - when I was in year 8, I got a 2 day exclusion from my school, and it wasn't even picked up on when I went to 6th form (in the same school). I think the only time they mentioned it was some progress report in year 8. Certainly not affecting university or Post 16.
