Hello so ibsent the paper form yesterday and got a tracking number. It says they have received it, can i just ask them to send the confirmatiom email tht ive applied if i trll them the tracking number because i need it for my uni or when would i receive an email saying ive applied?

If you sent in a paper application to apply, I'm guessing your a new student - it will be waiting to get processed. Wait about 6 working days from when you send in the form to hear any news.
When the data entry team work your application you will get correspondence sent out to you, you won't get nothing before that.
The confirmation you need for your university is called the "Notification of entitlement" letter and you will only get that letter once your application is approved (keep checking your online account and when it says approved go to the letters & emails section and you will see the "Notification of entitlement " letter.
If you are wondering when your application is approved then no one will be able to give you an accurate timescale not even student finance because it all depends on your circumstances, if you application is all fine and you don't need to send further evidence then it can get approved straight away once the data entry team have worked it (some apps don't need to be seen by an assessor as they automatically go to approved) - the official timescale is to wait up to 6 weeks from when you apply to get your app approved though.
