I've been applying for almost a year now at various retail jobs. My CV is pretty impressive for a student still in sixth form but I've had no luck. Any ideas of jobs I should be applying for or how to get one?

I would suggest walking down to all your local shops/ cafes etc, and handing in a copy of your CV with contact details and asking them if a job is available
