I want to study single Russian for the 2017 year and was looking into some colleges for it. So far I have found New and Teddy Hall that have Russian specialists. Does anyone have any idea how many applicants per place there are for Russian, I can see on the website it is something like 3 per place for Modern Languages but surely this is brought up by popular languages like French, Spanish and German? Also, would I be at any disadvantage if I applied to a college where other people are applying for Russian or does it still come under the Modern Languages applicant bracket?
    Any help appreciated!

The college you apply to doesn't affect your chance of getting into Oxford, so pick the one you like the most rather than trying to be strategic. Around 25% of people end up at a college that they didn't apply to so don't have your heart set on a particular college either. I did an open application and ended up with a really amazing college tutor/director of studies so I'm very happy where I am.

(So basically pick one you like but you'll be happy wherever you end up.)
