Can i self teach myself AS geography?

    • Thread Starter

I decided at the beginning of year 13 i wanted to pick up geography and i only have a year for the entire course, i have lesson time for A2 but not AS, is it possible?

Yes it is very possible. I had an awful teacher last year who couldn't teach and predicted me a C because of my mocks etc. Her useless classes demotivated me so much I decided to geography 3 days before the exam and only memorised about 3 of my case studies. I got an A (achieving 90% of the marks). Boy was she shocked ! (but then again so was I). Fortunately the whole class got pretty decent grades as well by trying to teach themselves too. All I did was memorise the content from the CGP book. If you were good at geography for GCSE it's really not a big jump at all, just make sure that you know how to develop your points - but don't make the same mistake and leave it all last minute because it's honestly so stressful.

It is possible. But just be prepared to take quite a bit time out for it since it does require a deep level of research and understanding of topics/case studies.

Once you know your U2 case studies, it's just common sense from then. I didn't revise for AS geog (prioritized chem and bio and German) and still got an A
