General rule of Significant Figures? Watch

    Currently doing homework on mass spectrometer and I have to calculate R.A.M based on relative abundance and m/z ratio.

    What is the general rule in chemistry for the amount of significant figures for the final answer? Is it 3 just like in GCSE?
