    Hey all!
I know there's a ton of similar questions on here about whether doing DofE is worth it, but my sixth form is offering DofE Gold and I'm considering it even though I went on a World Challenge trip this summer (I guess I genuinely miss tents and walking...)

Is it worth it? (I'm looking at Oxford or Manchester for Uni so I want to have a lot of extra-curricular awards and qualifications)

    Also, should I consider NCS?

If I'm honest, no one cares about DofE or NCS. Unless you have no qualifications, which is clearly not the case for you, there's no reason to do it. In some ways it looks like forced, because DofE and NCS are structured programmes with merely boxes you need to tick across the programme.

This may be unpopular, but I would actively discourage you from doing either DofE or NCS if you're doing it for just something to write about.

By all means do it if it involves stuff you're interested in/want a fun experience...
