Describe the structure of a collagen molecule (3)
Has a unique sequence of amino acids bonded by peptide bonds.
Every 3rd amino acid is glycine.
Left handed helix.
Composed of 3 polypeptide chains coiled around each other via hydrogen bonds.
FIbrous so no hydrophilic groups pointing outwards.
Contains staggered ends.
