I want to work for the security services...such as MI5/MI6/GCHQ.
As a law student going into year1...can i apply in my 2nd year as a student? what job role in their service would be best as a law student.

Firstly, let's talk internet security. Anonymous mode is great, but it ain't perfect (you can still be traced, if somebody really wanted to). Most roles in the Intelligence Services seem to require a twone or higher in your degree, or an equivalent, so you would probably have to wait until your third year before you could apply.
Vacancies are quite common, I think, but they tend to get filled quickly so have a look at what jobs there are when you leave uni. All three of those organisations have legal departments, so if you want to use your degree then you could apply for one of them. Otherwise, there are entry level training courses and things that you can try to get onto too.
Also, I know that this is probably quite obvious, but you do need to avoid getting into trouble between now and then. Vetting is very thorough, so you'd be best off with a clean criminal record (and should probably avoid joining your uni's marxist society or anything like that)
