Are Open University Access Modules worth it?

    • Thread Starter

Hi! So I've been looking into studying BA (Hons) Arts and Humanities (specialising in creative writing) with the Open University (course number R14)

I'm 20 years old and I dropped out of college at 17 after getting 2 AS Levels graded D and I read that an access module might be worth going for first if I've been out of education for a while.

Has anyone ever done an access module and found it useful/beneficial before going onto a degree level course? I was considering studying the arts and languages access module (course number Y031) before going onto the degree.

I decided OU instead of a brick uni because I don't have the qualifications for a brick uni, also I don't really do well in classrooms so it made a lot of sense to study on my own and being able to work around my job.

Any advice or opinions would be really appreciated!

    Thanks in advance
