found a lump

Hi
Im female nearly 21 and i found a lump in the top of my leg crease (on the bikini area) its a bit sore like ive been wearing tight knickers and the elastic is digging in, i do shave the are and i had a lump before which turned out to be i think a boil(it poped ect), i dont want to go to my GP because his male and even when i had a lump on my breast and went to see the nurse she called the DR in to have a look, all the GP's in the surgery are now male so im abit stuck on what to do, im scared it could be serious

Heya

It might just be an ingrown hair root in the area as you mentioned you shave the area, right???

If its not that, go see your GP but demand its a female Dr and if they ask for a 2nd opinion, again ask for it to be a female Dr. I always ask if its something I wish not to be seen by a male GP and it works all the time.

Hope that helps

there are no female GP's in the surgery now only 1 nurse who needs a GP's opinion anyway, dont want to waist nurses time by going hospital

Ahhh righty then.

Have you told your mum about it??? sounds abit stoopid but its what I sometimes do if i kinda try and avoid the Dr's.

If not, then the only option I can suggest is just grit your teeth and bare it! GP's - male and female have seen it all so they wouldnt be at all embarassed or owt. If you dont want to go on your own - take someone close to you, a close best friend, your mum.

Hope that helps abit more

EDIT: The lump you might have as I said before might be an ingrowing hair root.

When I use to get these from shaving the area (which i dont anymore for this reason) I use to warm castor oil, apply it to a cotton pleat, put on the area and let it take out the inflammation, until it eventually (this might sound gross) but popped.

If you can get your mits on any of that and try it, it may work. If not the GP trip will still be on the cards.

ah I see your problem, yes you do need to see a GP, its more than likley to be something small, and nothing to worry about, as for the only males, change doctors, it sounds a lot for one problem, but what about the future, when you want female only again??

I had a lump like that, which I found I got when I wore v tight jeans and it was SO painful. It faded after a week. And I bought new jeans. If it's still about in a week then I'd go to the doc just in case.

the doctors have seen it all before it wont be anything different to them, i say go see the gp, take your mum along for support if you are still worried about the doctor
