isn't christs renowned for piling on the pressure in terms of work though? it wouldn't surprise me if their suicide rate was higher than most if that was true

i don´t see why excessive work has to lead to suicide. may be rather cathartic

It's not the work itself, it's the pressure and the absolute blind terror of failure that some people manage to instil in themselves.

thats the sort of place oxbridge is, you work hard while you are there and if you do well then you are going to have extremely good job prospects, I would imagine dont help either on the stress front

i don't think that's true; while i reckon i worked reasonably hard last term, i don't think i worked any harder/felt any more pressured than friends from other colleges, although i suppose it varies between individuals.
