Personal Statement for Animal Behaviour

    • Thread Starter

I have recently finished college and am now applying for university as an individual. I was wondering if I could get some help with my personal statement

You could follow a similar structure to this:

Paragraph 1: Motivation for the degree/why you find it interesting
Paragraph 2: How your A levels/college course has prepared you for different elements of the degree(e.g. taught you attention to detail, perseverance, independent learning, time management)
Paragraph 3: Any work experience/volunteering you've done and what it's taught you (e.g. a vets, a zoo, a pet shop, an cats/dogs shelter)
Paragraph 4: Extra-curriculars and the transferable skills they've developed (e.g. music, sports, committees, clubs, part time jobs- all of these could have developed your teamwork, leadership, communication ability)
Paragraph 5: Conclusion summing up why you're a suitable candidate (don't bring in new, unsupported ideas here, just write a couple of sentences to leave the admissions tutors feeling positive and excited about your application)

As for the specific content and style, only you can decide that as it depends on who you are as a person, what your strengths are and why you want to study this degree.

    Hope this helps
