I'm writing a book and I'm struggling to think about what type of people the villains could be. They have to be really smart, super organised and ruthless. I initially decided they would be a Chinese Mafia but the story is set in London so why the hell would a Chinese Mafia go to London to kill a rich girl? I'm thinking of making the villains some psychopathic rich guys because she was their ex or something. Apart from Chinese Mafia's and Psychopathic rich kids, what other violent villains are there? I need a list and then I'll probably think of motives.

You're thinking very stereotypically here, aren't you?

They need to be smart. Chinese people are smart.
They need to be evil and ruthless. The mafia is evil and ruthless.

I don't mean to mock, it's just a bit funny to read.

Anyone can be smart, super organised and ruthless - count the number of high functioning psychopaths in the world and in history.

But if you want some characters for your story, here we GOOOOO!

    Really smart, super organised, ruthless:

    - Hitman, specialising in kidnapping, interrogation and, of course, killing.
    - Serial killer surgeon.
    - Crazed genius stalker.

Also, since it's fiction, anything can work.

For example, the Triad (Chinese Mafia) has put a hit on a rich London girl since her Father has disrupted business dealings in China, costing them quite a lot of money, despite their threats and warnings against him.

    Have fun.

Nooo that is soo not why I picked them, its because that is how they appeared in my dream!
Yeah I was literally thinking that! But the book is based on a series of personal ruthless murders and so I think the Chinese Mafia does not cut it because there would no be closure - the motive is just power and money and it keeps going. Although I could twist the story to fit that but it would mean I'd have to change the plot a little bit so I think I may just have to come up with my own villain. Who could indeed could be a stalker or a surgeon. However tbh I don't have to think about the actual villain and their motives/stories until towards the end, so I guess the villains crimes will eventually make it easier to shape the villain or person behind the villain.

    Thank you :hugs:
