    If it takes user input and/or stores it in a database, I would always make sure to sanitize input data, you can also get a HTTPS certificate for free, using https://letsencrypt.org/.

    Well obviously if you're planning to use databases ensure that you're using prepared statements. Also, try seeing if you can SQL Inject your own database (with e.g. CONCAT, UNION ect), if you can then you'll need to put in more work when it comes to securing it.
