Here's a thread to discuss everything about the world of Fire Emblem, a strategy RPG gaming series on Nintendo systems.

Even if you've only played one game, feel free to comment about it.

Icebreaker: Who is your favorite unit?

Hmm. Not many people have played waifu simulator 2016 on this board, it seems.

Jokes aside, my favourite would be Noire from Awakening. Love her voice, and she goes from being a damsel in distress to wiping out the whole map in about 3 turns when you meet her.

Yeah, seems so. I suppose it is still quite niche, even if it has been doing well since Awakening and Fates.

I like Noire, and paired her up with Yarne which was an interesting combo lol.

    I love...

I've always liked Ike and Soren, I just think they're an interesting dynamic, especially in FE9. Ike is naive to the point of stupidity, he didn't even know 'sub-human' was an insult. Yet he's very kind and non-judgemental, whereas Soren is the most intelligent character in the game and incredibly unfriendly, yet they're utterly devoted to each other to the point that many people think they're a gay couple. It's never overtly stated but it's a reasonable view given their equal disinterest in women. I still think the Tellius games are the best ones, although I enjoyed the 3DS games a great deal too.

I actually bought Fire Emblem Fates (my first Fire Emblem game if it is of interest to anyone) when it came out this year, played until I could download the Conquest/Revelations paths as I bought the Birthright + Conquest/Revelations as DLC from the Nintendo Store.

I actually really enjoyed it and I have no idea why I haven't played anymore since, I must change that soon.

Gods I'm stuck on the Endgame chapter of Fire Emblem Fates Conquest. :'(

And the worst thing is that it makes you redo the chapter before you you die. Ugh...

What about gamers who didn't play a minute, but listening to some soundtracks about those games?

Ah, I love the OST for Fates in particular, and of course you can talk about an aspect of a game. Which one do you like (assuming you are one of those gamers in question)?

Off to war, also known as Monshou no Nazo, Another world sounds nice and Divine child, White sage.

And if you think, 'hey, they seem to be old', yeah you are right: all of them belong to the SNES game. Like those retro games and a lot of soundtracks. Even those which exist in games I didn't play.

Listening to some of it, and yeah, it sounds retro. But I love chiptune as well, particularly Mega Man tracks.

Chiptune, could it be you are talking about 8-bit soundtracks? soundtracks which existed on NES and game boy games? those ones?

Oh, is there a difference? I thought chiptune was just any kinda soundtrack that was sort of old video-gamey.

I'm not a music whizz at all. >.<
