# What would happen if every one in the whole world jumped simultaneously? Watch

Announcements
1. Will it be like an earthquake but all over the world.
2. I wonder what would happen on the Pacific tectonic plate since that's all oceanic.

(This A2 Geography lyfe smh...)

Average Weight of a human = 60 kg.
Average height of jump = 0.2m.
GPE = mgh = 120 joule (g appprox. 10 m/s^2)
population = 7 B (approx)

Total energy = 7X10^9 X 120 = 8.4 X 10 ^ 11 joule.
Surface area of earth = 5.1X10^14 m^2

per each 1 m^2 area the energy released = 1.6 X 10 ^-3 Joule i.e not even a small earthquake.

4. tl;dw

pretty much nothing would happen in terms of moving the Earth or earthquake wise.

our number is simply tiny in comparison to the entire Earth.
