Help with MSc choices! Accounting and Finance!

    • Thread Starter

    Hello everyone,

I am a female student from Estonia finishing my bachelors in International Business Administration with specialisation in Accounting and Finance. Currently I am pursuing a cumlaude, and I have a GPA of 4.7/5.0. I have no work experience in banking nor finance, I currently work for Google Maps but on sales management department.

I know that Estonia is a little too-tiny-too-unknown, but my university is the best in the country and well-recognised in the Baltics and Nordic countries. I am applying soon for a handful of schools all around Europe, and I have came across a couple of masters in London (the only place in the UK I am willing to move to due to my partner's job).

My interest is in accounting / finance / wealth management. I would like to know from you guys, how would you rank these schools I added to my applications list?

    - What are the best ones?

    - What are the ones I should definitely cross out of the list?

    - What are the ones that offer the best job placement after graduation, and what are the worst ones? (very important)

    - What are the ones with more realistic chances of getting in (remembering that, even if I belong to the top 5% of my university, it is still in too-tiny-too-unknown Estonia!)

    - Any other recommendations?

I have heard many things lately, such as: Queen Mary is rubbish, King's college is 2nd tier and not well-known for Finance, and Cass is too overpriced for what it offers. I need some more reliable and pragmatic analysis, what is real and what is not about this? Because, let's be honest, it ain't easy to get into Imperial or LSE, so I'm being realistic here!

Which of these options could offer me decent career prospects?

Money is not a problem, as long as it is a school that provides good prospects regarding the future career (I hope it will pay back the invested money!).

LSE (MSc Accounting and Finance, MSc Finance, and MSc Finance and Private Equity)

Imperial (MSc Finance, MSc Finance and Accounting)

King's College (MSc Banking and Finance, MSc Accounting, Accountability & Financial Management)

Queen Mary (MSc Accounting and Finance, MSc Accounting and Management, MSc Investment and Finance, MSc Wealth Management)

Cass (MSc International Accounting and Finance, MSc Finance)

Thanks a lot in advance and good luck for everyone on the same path as I am!
