I dropped my pet rodent off at the vets as she has a lump. The vet said they could remove it today so i could leave her with them. Since she was only in a small carrier I said to the vet 'do you have a cage or should i go and get one' and he just looked at me and said 'err yea we have a whole room full of them' or something similar. My family think i showed myself up and it was the daftest question ever. I guess i have a bit of social anxiety in that i worry others think im stupid.

I don't think it's that daft, yes vets should have cages but it was considerate of you to check they had a spare one.

It's fine. I've asked plenty of sillier questions.

Tip from my tutor; If you're not sure about the answer, then it's not a stupid question

I always ask questions if I don't know something. The last thing you should care about what others think about you, especially those with whom you don't have daily interactions.
