Is New College prestigious?

I want to apply to New College Oxford for law but not sure if its one of the most favoured? I've been advised not to aim for the most prestigious colleges and don't know where New College sits.

I just want to increase my chances if I apply to a less popular college.
    Any ideas?

You don't need to worry about this unduly: if you're a strong candidate then you could end up in the pool, the whole point of which is to even out strong applications to oversubscribed colleges. That said, if you want to try to avoid the pool then look up the applicants to places ratios: they're freely available.
