Can i write about things i plan to do in my personal statement Watch

    • Thread Starter

So I'm on a gap year atm so I am applying to uni again having applied last year. I didnt get into UCL, which was my firm, last year and I'm applying again. I am doing resits but other than that I'm not doing anything at the moment. I will be volunteering at a museum come december but obviously i want to send my application off asap. I don't want UCL to think I failed and now im just doing nothing so I dont know whether i should say I plan to volunteer or if i should wait and send it off late.

Talking about plans is fine. People do it all the time.

I would find a better way to say you're currently doing "nothing". There are things you can do besides volunteering, at present. Try to do that.

You could write about a book/movie/article/event/public speaker which inspired you or something like that.

Yeah, we got told at school that if we're taking a gap year we should talk about what we're going to do in it.

Are you doing anything related at the moment, e.g. using the time to improve your knowledge by reading subject-related books or something? Maybe you could include that as well.
