Feedback and interpretations of my WIP novel's prologue

    I've finally started to sit down and write a novel like I've wanted to do for years now but never found the motivation. Given that I've gone through so many ideas and creative stages to get to where I am now, I'd be interested to see what people make of this introductory prologue and how they interpret it: what's going on? Why is it happening? Etc.

    The novel title is Aquinas, not that that helps much, but it might add some context for those close readers out there.

    If you don't know, pastebin is simply a website that allows you to paste large dumps of text as a means to show other people, though if you'd prefer a text document I've attached one too.
