I have such nostalgia about games that I have played before and so it makes me want to play them again but then I think is this a waste of time because I've played it before and I know what happens. Even more so if it's going to take many hours to complete. What is your opinion?

I don't think its a waste of time if you enjoy it. When it comes to gaming, enjoyment is the key - doesn't matter if you get it from a game you've played in the past or a new game. I've lost count how many times I've played Oblivion and Skyrim from the start and I continue to play them over and over because the games haven't lost their spark for me

It's the same concept behind reading a book you've already read before. I'm the kind of person who has 5 games I'll replay over and over, rather than have 50 titles I barely touch.

I know what you mean, but I'd still replay them. I would probably leave it a good while though

Depends on the game really, any good game should either be very long or have high replayability, or both, hence why in some respects games with no set plot bar a broad overarching thing are the best. Obviously strategy games are very good for this because you don't play for the plot, that's just something that comes with it, they tend to be of a half decent length, and they have the high replayability because you're playing it for reasons that are independent of some sort of driving plot. The same goes for a good RPG really.

sorry i misread the title, i thought she said roleplaying games, as opposed to replaying them!

I never used to replay games because I never looked at the detail.
But now I'll replay them several times because i absolutely love the detail they go into!

Watch Dogs - Completed 4 times
LA Noire - Completed 3 times (currently replaying through)
Driver San Francisco - Completed 3 times
    Burnout Paradise - Completed twice
Test Drive Unlimited 2 - Completed twice
    GTA 5 - Completed twice
    Forza Horizon - Completed twice

So yeah I do replay them for pure enjoyment!
I get really into the games I play, so it feels like I'm there doing what I'm controlling!

    Classics, maybe.

Nothing that's recently come out is worth repeating unless there's differing endings/playstyles/achievements.

    Contemporary games are t r a s h

And the general trend there is open world with the plot only losely mattering, if it exists at all.
