See to be honest - nothing ever seems to make a difference if I get one!

Useless info I know - but it's so annoying!
Aciclostad cream, from a pharmacy.

I always find Zovirax clears them up the quickest (though I'm not sure if that's because I always feel them coming and treat the before the blister appears which definitely helps with the healing process).

Compeed isn't any where near as effective and I found they took a lot longer to clear up completely, but it did make them feel a lot more comfortable as they stop them forming a really hard scab which I find really sore, especially when they're right on the corner of your mouth and stop you from being able to open your mouth without them hurting).

So depends if you're more concerned with comfort or clearing them up quickly but with a nice crusty painful blister?!

I have one at the moment and have been using Zoviaraz during the day and compeed at night and its already clearing up after 3 days (which is very goo since I get married next saturday!)

Zovirax definately works but you have to apply it at the start for it to have the most effect.

Someone told me to put a little aftershave on it (sounds weird lol) after it had developed a few days because it would dry it out and heal it quicker, it stings a little, but it might help.

Isn't Zovirax really good for that kind of stuff?

Yep get the cheaper version of zovirax from bodycare, it's a lot cheaper than in boots.
Zovirax worked well when I had a cold sore.

Thanks guys  I trotted off down to the chemist's (after carefully re-styling my hair so that my fringe covered the offending blister, and looking not unlike Cousin It) and got some zovirax. Can't tell it it's working yet, but will give it a go.

NHS direct also suggested tea tree oil, so I dabbed some of that on earlier, but it stung lots and my whole mouth tasted of eucalyptus yuckiness so I washed it off. Possibly I was meant to dilute it; possibly I am a n00b. Think I'll stick to the drugs...

That concludes this fascinating chapter of All About That Enormous Blister On My Face.
