Hi I've applied to Oxford to read Chinese studies and I have a couple of questions...

    1) The lead university counsellor at my school has assembled all the Oxbridge candidates and will carry out interview preparation sessions until December. This involves groups of us sitting in a circle discussing articles which our counsellor has given us, which will apparently be similar to what we might have to do for the interview. The point of this would be to develop our group discussion and debating skills and apparently the people we will be up against will not necessarily be applying for the same course but will be extremely well-prepared and can TALK. We will then be selected on the basis of our speaking skills, maturity and ability to listen and argue with others. I though that the interview only consists of a discussion with 1 or 2 tutors, could someone please clarify?

    2) What kind of questions will I be asked during the interview(s) with the tutors? Just general questions about interest etc. or will they ask me to demonstrate my language-learning abilities by setting me a puzzle of some sort?

Thank you for any answers or feedback!
