You have to write your name and address on it and sign it and they keep it until you bring it back! When you bring it back they give ya the sheet!

I'm sure its so that they can keep track of people who read it and if it comes back or not. But I don't see the need becasue all my details are on a card. Its bloody stupid and I'm guessing an infringement on my human rights :s

 What if its a nation wide conspiracy! To stop people from becoming Nazi's! I might get in out in Nazi Uniform in protest next time.

hehe, RESPECT are socialists, you can't expect them to be that realistic. I guess they're just other end of the extreme to the BNP. Although I'd take a socialist over a facist any day, ideally I'd go for a little more moderation.

i only went along because a friend of mine who is a member of the socialist workers party got me advanced tickets to the free gig-otherwise it would have meant being in the other queue which was more like a crazy mob trying to get inside the liverpool uni students uni! i did get to see badly drawn boy so standing in a crowd throwing thier fists in the air shouting "if it walks like a facist, if it talks like a facist then its a facist" and "**** the BNP"..my friend stole a poster which said "10th June:use your vote. Keep out the facist BNP" which her dad stuck a sticker on over the words BNP saying Labour-that made me laugh..

i do think we need extreme parties because they arouse interest in politics and under the present system they won't get very far. People should be made more aware of them, so they don't get thier ballot paper and think "hhhmmm British National Party, they are obviously interested in our country" like someone i know..

indeed it was-and we even tried to pass it off as some form of politics revision..

My history teacher said that a few months back. We were trying to get onto KKK website to research a presentation for history, and the college network blocked them. He said we should be allowed onto because it's probably better that we see for ourselves what they have to say, especially since most people can tell straight away that they're talking crap anyway.

yeh our school unblocked the BNP for us for a lesson and never refiltered it..

My college got added to a BNP mailing list, although they don't know how! They refused to remove us as well!

Hehe! I have an urge to try that
I'll study Government&Politics As-level(Edexcel) this Sep. Please add me!
hey guys can I join?

I was wondering how many people are members of political parties? I have joined Labour with the hope of reversing the work of Blair  and co to good old Labour. People complained about the looney left in the 80s but at least they were far more exciting times than now. Although if it meant another Thatcher than maybe I will have to rethink my plans. Just a thought.

Don't really have time for a party, although my dad's always telling me to join one. Plus I don't really agree with any of the biggies, but if I had time I would probably join one.
I haven't as yet given any time to the campaigning side of things its just the fact that you are a member of the party. I might voluteer in the next general election, particularly as I will be able to vote this time. Although it might be called in the middle of the exams.

i am not a member of any party, however i have become pretty closely associated with the Liberal Democrats. When i was younger i used to go out and deliver leaflets for them because my nana sent me (she was supposed to do it but thought i would find it fun) and in June my local candidates took me along to the election count where i wore a yellow rossette..however i did then go talk to the conservative guys and one nice man gave me his blue one, then went and practically mugged a labour guy for his too..

Mandelson as EU Commissioner- wots everyones thoughts?

I think 'No Way'! Tis typical of Tony to stick two fingers up at the cabinet. There was an interesting debate about it at http://www.uk-learning.net/t55070.html

I agree- but not just at the moment I have had little to no faith in Blair for a long time now. It is such arrogance of Blair to appoint Mandelson to the position.

It's not that Mandelson isn't capable- according to all that I have read he is infact a very capable politician but he has been forced to resign twice in scandal. Couldn't Blair have given someone else a chance? I think he may have wanted to get rid of Mandelson.
