Cpnsidering the course and everuthing lese you have said, then I'm +1 for Dutch as well. Have to work out finances , but maybe a gap year to save money would be wise.
Hi Mrs SC, have really enjoyed reading your thread. Good luck with your studies in the Netherlands. I visited the University of Amsterdam and Utrecht university in the summer. They are fabulous institutions and Amsterdam has a real buzz about the city. I am only in Y 11 but I am thinking about A level choices and making the correct choices for the university course I want.#
I did like the look of the Liberal Arts degrees- following the International Relations and politics track, but UVA has introduced a English taught Political Science degree this year that tick all the boxes for me. Leiden Univ looks like it has some really interesting courses too.
Have you found this video on the UVA website? I found it really useful.

I think it really depends on whether my dad wants to help me out or not. I'm hoping to work over the summer anyway but if not then maybe I'll go to Nottingham instead or something.
I doubt I could save up enough to last me three years if I worked for a year though.

I just mean enough to tide you over and aboid things being a struggle. Ofc if your dad wont help then it makes it a bit of a no go.
You should go for the adventure imo and saving yourself shed loads of debt.

Oh right well atm I have about £500 in my savings (I don't think I'll be able to go hiking across Europe's national parks now urgh). Yeah my main problem is the finances of it. If I don't have enough then I'll have to stick to Nottingham/Glasgow. Would be upset if I didn't go but not too upset because my course at Notts is a year abroad anyway.
If I knew that my dad was helping me out every month then I'd pick Amsterdam Uni in a heartbeat.

Well he's your parent, so you are at an advantage. If you wnat to go, then I suggest you make the economic case of how much you cna save plus get your mum on your side. I just think your life would be enriched by having such an adventure. The other two are nice unis, but studying in Europe would be different.

Erm mum's a bit of a touchy subject My dad knows and he's happy with me going. Yup it would actually be amazing. Defo think I'd thrive.

I knew when I typed it that there were other possibilities.
Maybe if you agreed to work for a year and save £X then that would show him you were taking it seriously. I cnat emphasise enough how much having savings would make it easier and make you feel less vulnerable.
Anyway you have tow good choices. With Uni fees being what they are, then I think it makes good sense.

Yeah I guess. I'll look into it obviously but I'll have to talk to my dad about it.
Dont they have open days? have you taken him to one? If not do that. he cna see for himself.
Yeah they have one coming up in March I think but he isn't the travelling type. He's told me that I could just go to the open day by myself because it would only cost like £80 there and back but it's just my Mum whose a problem. Very over controlling woman.
Yaaas. Just need to find a white Dutchman with blue eyes, a nice body with a high sex drive who I have romantic and sexual chemistry with so I can climb him like a tree
Yeh think that's what yeh want but then yeh meet a hobbit from ireland and yeh don't look back..
Ah let me speak on what I've experienced. I studied abroad and it's helped me grow as a person. If it makes sense logically then definitely for it. Have a bit of adventure in your life. Yeh can always come home.

It would help if he went. If you fo then I syspect it will make your mind up for you. If not take a video. Working that year and saving several thousand £ would give you stability and means they had less influence.

Cant comment on mum situation.
I think I can get a loan from here actually. But yeah I do need to save up obviously. Would love to go so much.
