HI I'm just seeing this thread! I have applied for QUB and UU for social work. Sent my 600 word statement 8th February but haven't heard anything. I'm hoping I'm just in a waiting queue for an interview as there's been nothing different to my UCAS status. Did the interview come by email or in the post?

Thanks

Yeah I'm going to try avoid thinking too much about it until I hear! Nothing random - just a case of making sure you know what a social worker does and the needs of different service users.
One thing I'm annoyed about is that I didn't refer back to my experience enough!

We'll hopefully you've talked enough to show you understand roles etc. No news is good news! Do you still have another interview in the 3rd March as well?

Hey! Its a long process so you are probably just in a queue! Don't be worrying!
For UU the interview is by email but for QUB I got a letter 😊 Depends on if you choose to share information or not.

That's what I was hoping but I just keep doubting myself. Yes I shared my information and it was UU that sent me the info for my 600 word statement. Thanks!!
I am sharing info and I got my interview letter from queens
Just out of the interview at queens, I was really nervous but think I managed to speak about what I wanted to. They asked six questions

That's great well done! I'm sure you're glad it's over! I've still heard nothing but I know they've probably so many to get through! Did they give any indication on when you'd find out?
He just said you won't hear anything for a while and that was it

Hi, I'm doing my 600 word personal statement at the minute. I done it last year and got an interview (sadly rejected after interview). If you have any questions I'm happy to help. 😊

That's a good sign - pretty much means you've got in because if not you hear within a day or two! Don't want to get your hopes up but well done! What were your questions if u don't mind me asking?
Has anybody got any offers yet?
On reflection of the interview there is things I've missed so I just hope what I've done was enough and I need to not think about it or I'll become obsessed with ucas.

They asked me why I wanted to be a social worker. I got a scenario. Other questions around the social work training basically what they sent to us in the post. I wasn't asked about previous course and how it relates or about any books or anything but they might ask completely different questions with others.

hi my name is mark ive got an interview for queens tomorrow i am bricking it lol im currently doing an access course at the moment any pointers for interview thanks
Meant to add I thought there was only one group of interviewers but there's not. Two people get interviewed at the same time by two different interviewers so it's More competitive than I thought. Me and another girl were in at the same time

Did they ask you about current social work issues? I don't really know how to prepare for that one lol like I know one but it's more negative on behalf of social workers haha which definitely will not look good. I know how you feel! I panic every time I get an email lol
