    Could any of you help me with this maths question?
    2x+3=X-4
    I don't know if this is factorising or not

    no, its not factorising.
    So the best way to solve this is to re-arrange the equation to put the x's on one side and the numbers on the other

    ok so what you do is
    2x+3 = X-4

    move the unknowns to one side, and the numbers to the other side, that way all the liketerms will be together, and it would be easier to solve

    2x-x = -4-3
    and then you work it out
    x = -7
    and thats your answer

    Please refrain from revealing answers in the maths section: it is the policy to help, but not solve.

    Thank you soo much for the help! Does the +3 turn into a -3 because they have swapped sides?
