    I am finding it hard to complete my first draft of my personal statement as the deadline gets closer, I guess I don't know myself as well as I should. I plan on doing criminology at university but have no idea on ideal work experience for my course and what jobs I can actually gain from this course that will provide financial stability. Please help if you can!

    Hi just know first that you're not the only one! I finally finished my first draft yesterday after months of trying and i know there is a lot of work to go into it still!

    Just start of by splitting into sections.
    1. Why do you want to study criminology?
    - any books/ films that inspired you?

    2. What skills and experience do you have?
    - basically this is evidence for why you want to do the course
    - what books have you read
    - any work experience

    3. extra curricular

    This is a pretty basic outline, but if you just search 'personal statement outline' it should hopefully give more detail!


    If you're unsure about whether Criminology is right for you, consider taking a gap year, and applying next year. Plenty of people do it and it gives you time to think!

    This sounds like you just need more research. If you don't know what jobs you can do you should check the uni website - that will tell you what kind of things you can do.
