Just started Edexcel AS Level geography but managed to get a C grade in 40 mark essay assessment. Is this what is expected at the start or am I just doing really badly?

If that's the level you're at then it's what it is. Have you had any feedback that you can use to improve?

It's probably normal, definitely not something to worry about if you work on it! I got an A in my first 40 marker and the second one I did I got a C so it's probably going to fluctuate a lot until we practice it more!

    It's normal

Very few people do amazingly to begin with, especially when essays are involved because technique takes time to develop.

It's normal, the exam technique is different to GCSE, don't worry you'll improve.

I've just started A-levels too and I've gone from A to D to B in essays I'd say it's pretty normal as we're still getting used to how the exams work, plus we have plenty of time to improve so I wouldn't worry too much.

    Good luck!
