It's a myth that foods cause spots. They don't. There are good foods for spots (like fruit and veg) because they will have vitamins and minerals that you may be missing (which may lead to spots), but no foods actually cause spots. Including chocolate.

This is just not true certain foods can trigger Rosacea Acne flare ups and many sufferers control these flare ups through diet. Common triggers are indeed caffeine, alcohol, chocolate, spicy foods, cheese to name but a few.

I really don't believe diet has THAT much of an impact on acne...the only thing that cleared up my spots was getting a prescription from the doctor.

Every time i indulge in chocolate ( especially milk or fondant centers ) or salty oily crisps with full fat dips, i almost always end up getting spots. Therfor for me at least, diet has a direct effect on spots. However there are people who never seem to get spots with these foods - and they seem to be exclusively female. I am male. I think hormones interact with certain foodstuffs to produce spots.

Pretty much this.

There are foods that will make spots a little worse if you're already prone to getting them, but the underlying cause is usually hormonal and part of your normal body (or, otherwise, medical) and food only modifies what's going on a little; if you're going to have spots, you're going to have spots whether you're eating apples or tubs of lard.

Fats and other things don't really directly make your skin greasy. Certainly, if your diet is so predominantly fatty that you end up with greasier skin, it won't help, but you do have to go at the fatty foods pretty hard to get to that stage.

No specific foods cause spots. Thats a complete stupid myth. A bad diet overall causes acne. Stop living on ready meals, cut down to having one or two a week and learn to cook proper food. Its bad for you overall. Also, try taking a multivitamin every day and if your acne is bad, take it to the doctors, get them to prescribe you some antibiotic cream.
