I am stuck on a question in M2:
Particles A, B and C have masses m, 3m and Xm. Particle A is given an impulse of J where J=3mu. It collides with B and is at rest after the collision, B then strikes C with speed u. It then collides with C. The speeds of B and C after the collision are given as (9u-Xu)/(9+3X) and (4u)/(3+X). I'm stuck on part e) which is: Show that A and B will have a second collision provided that X>9. Thanks in advance
