Why are book covers and their designs totally irrelevant to the stories these days?

    • Thread Starter

I've started to notice that all new books usually have covers that don't match with the story at all. It's everywhere! Not even the title matches which whatever's going on the cover. I once read a book about a girl coping with the loss of her grandma and on the cover there was some random picture of a park. And another one with a baby on it but it was about a mans hard
life and no baby was mentioned at all there was this once about the olden days and it showed a women holding her baby dressed in modern clothing.
    Seriously what is happening?
