We all know that Yik Yak has pretty much shot itself in the foot over the summer. It's a real shame because it was a great way to have an anonymous community. I arrived at uni expecting it to still be the same. However now it's no longer anonymous and... nobody uses it. So I was wondering if anyone knew of any other popular apps that students are using, particularly in the oxford area. Any ideas?

I don't know of any, and perhaps why Yik Yak was so good was that it was the anonymous 'social media' app out there... I agree about the way it went to non-anonymous has kinda ruined it, but at least you don't HAVE to reveal who you are on it...

True but at least the last time I used it they didn't have a way to stay permanently without a username. So you could be anonymous but it was too much effort.

They literally did a Digg, except even worse because there wasn't any alternative for everyone to go to instead.
