In terms of grade boundaries, marking criteria and which one do pupils tend to preform better on. What would be the main difference between these papers? From what I know, I will be doing 2 papers with Edexcel A and 1 paper with Edexcel B.

So I am re-taking English with a exam board that I haven't done previously. I am a little cautious, I'd really like to make an informed decision.

Please don't say they are of the same difficulty because they are different papers and require different skills.

    Thanks

From what I've been told Spec A is 2 exams (shorter in length) and Spec B is one 3 hour paper. Spec A includes some reading/literature skills and poems but I've been told that it doesn't pull any punches or have surprises and you are able to prepare for it better in many ways. If you are the sort of person that worries and gets anxious then Spec A may be easier in the long run. Spec B is more essays/comprehension and you won't know what the content will be so you would have to practice technique etc. We are doing A as although my daughter isn't a great reader, we feel she will be able t prepare for it better. I hope that helps.
