How long have you had it? It should wear down a bit. In my opinion you shouldn't worry about a scar like that really. I've seen worse and I have worse. People probably won't notice it.

I agree - it's very effective on reducing the appearance of scars.

I heard Vitamin E cream helps...

I'd rather have a scar than tuberculosis.

Most people have BCG scars, so I'm sure no-one notices. It's quite sinister actually, to think so many people have been marked like that, or is that just me? :s-smilie:

no i think that too! it's really weird, the one thing almost everyone has in common, that strange little white scar... spookeh
I can hardly see mine :s:
I've noticed them on all my mates, and a lot of people I see all the time, my boyfriend has one too, but I never had one

my scar isn't too bad but when you push it, there's like a dent underneath it. it's really weird....no one else's does it that i know of. :s-smilie:
I didn't have one. I think they did it at school and I just wasn't in that day. I've had the alternative done now, so I'm all good. And scar-less.
I think my bcg scar looks cool, and yeah, almost everyone I know has one, lol. Any medics know why it scars with such efficiency?

Coming back to the point that everyone appears to have one... i think the only conclusion we can make from this, is that.. well.. no-one wants TB?
As people have said, bio oil is good - I had it to put on shingles scars, and it really helped with those. Didn't actually put it on my BCG scar, as it was so tiny - but these scars looked pretty similar, so I guess would help!

ditto, minus the alternative.

I could be wrong, but I always thought that it was designed to scar so that it's always clear that you've had the vaccination, as it's so important? Some are bigger than others though ... all of the people I know who had it done at school were left with huge scars, but I went to the Chest Clinic at the hospital and mine's tiny  Sadly you're not allowed to choose where you have it now though.
I don't know about BCG-scars in particular, but I have a large scar resulting from boiling water over my right hand and all up my arm, and my parents at one point suggested that my doctor had a treatment to make it fade drastically. I didn't take the suggestion as my scra has never bothered me (in fact, most of my friends didn't notice til they had known me a loong while and suddenly went woah), but IIRC it was-... bandages.

Apparently the way the skin semi-dries out coupled with the chemicals in the band-aids make scars fade. You have to wear a thingy for three months though.

Hahaha, I just googled Mantoux test...turns out I haven't had "the alternative" done. Let's hope there's not a plague anytime soon...:p:

Dont you think your being a bit vain and worrying to much about a little scar? Would you rather catch tuberculosis than have a tiny scar that isnt so visable after time, and that no-one really notices or minds or cares?

I had my appendix out just under 2 weeks ago... now theres a scar.
